Current opportunity

B2B Business Development Representative

Smart Biz iT is seeking a business development professional who can build qualified relationships with startups and small businesses that need cybersecurity, compliance, and secure business technology support.

What this role owns

  • Research target accounts and identify relevant decision-makers.
  • Conduct thoughtful outreach through LinkedIn, email, phone, referrals, and events.
  • Follow up consistently and maintain accurate relationship records.
  • Perform basic qualification around business need, urgency, authority, and fit.
  • Schedule qualified consultations and prepare a clear internal handoff.
  • Support relationship continuity and follow-up through the sales process.

Who may be a strong fit

  • Experience in B2B sales, business development, account development, or consultative outreach.
  • Comfort building a pipeline rather than waiting for assigned leads.
  • Clear written, phone, and interpersonal communication.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and CRM discipline.
  • Interest in working with founders, technical leaders, healthcare practices, accounting firms, law firms, and other growing businesses.
  • Cybersecurity or compliance familiarity is helpful, but structured training will be provided.

Working arrangement and compensation

This is initially a commission-based business development opportunity. Compensation is 15% of collected project revenue and 15% of collected monthly recurring revenue during the first 12 months of an originated client relationship. There is no guaranteed base compensation initially. Final eligibility, attribution, payment timing, and engagement terms are governed by a written agreement.

Smart Biz iT initially leads full discovery, solution design, pricing, proposals, and contracts. The representative's focus is creating qualified conversations, documenting the opportunity, and maintaining professional follow-through.
